China's top diplomat Wang Yi has pledged support for Syria in its efforts to achieve peace, during the first official visit to Beijing by Syrian foreign minister Asaad al-Shaibani. The visit comes as Syria seeks to rebuild its diplomatic ties after years of isolation and recent political changes. Wang Yi emphasized China's commitment to helping Syria coordinate security, development, and integration into the international community, as well as supporting a nation-rebuilding plan through political dialogue. Beijing has a history of backing Damascus on the international stage and recently announced a strategic partnership with Syria.
