The Israeli military has revealed footage of a large underground tunnel in southern Gaza, where it says the body of Lieutenant Hadar Goldin was held by Hamas before being returned to Israel. Described as one of the most significant tunnels found to date, it stretches over seven kilometers, reaches a depth of 25 meters, and contains around 80 rooms. The tunnel runs beneath densely populated neighborhoods and passes under sensitive civilian sites, including a United Nations compound, mosques, clinics, and schools. The military says the tunnel was used by Hamas operatives for living, storing weapons, planning attacks, and as command posts for senior commanders, some of whom were killed in recent operations. Goldin's remains were returned more than 11 years after his death and abduction during the 2014 conflict.
