A 22-year-old Palestinian man, Sultan Nedal Abdul Aziz, was killed by Israeli forces during a raid in the village of Merka, south of Jenin, in the occupied West Bank. The incident occurred after Israeli troops surrounded a house, using gunfire and grenades, and later took Abdul Aziz's body. Official figures indicate that over a thousand Palestinians have been killed by Israeli settlers and soldiers in the West Bank since October 2023, while dozens of Israelis have died in Palestinian attacks during the same period. The frequency of Israeli raids and settler violence in the West Bank has increased since the conflict in Gaza escalated in late 2023.
