'Land without laws': Israeli settlers force Bedouins from West Bank...

Bedouin communities in the central occupied West Bank are being forced to abandon their homes due to escalating harassment and violence from Israeli settlers. Ahmed Kaabneh and his family, who had lived in the al-Hathrura area for generations, fled after settlers built a shack nearby and began intimidating his children. The United Nations reports that thousands of Palestinians have been displaced by settler violence and movement restrictions since October 2023, with this period marking the worst month for such incidents in nearly two decades. Despite international and Israeli laws prohibiting many settlements and outposts, few perpetrators have been held accountable, and the number of outposts continues to grow. Activists describe the region as a 'land without laws,' where abandoned Bedouin homes are often looted and settlers act with impunity, backed by elements within the Israeli government. Even after relocating, families like the Kaabnehs face ongoing threats and uncertainty about their safety.
