Paul Dennis, a blacksmith from the Welsh hills, has spent 50 years crafting and restoring metalwork for some of the United Kingdom's most iconic sites, including Windsor Castle, Westminster Abbey, and the Tower of London. Starting his journey in a cowshed, Dennis's dedication and artistry led him from humble beginnings to royal commissions and international projects. His pivotal restoration of the Edney gates at Tredegar House set him on the path to working for the Royal Household, where he contributed to significant projects such as the protection for the Crown Jewels and the post-fire restoration of Windsor Castle.
Despite his global reputation, Dennis remains rooted in his rural workshop, where his family now helps run the business. His career has included memorable moments, from creative disagreements with royalty to unexpected encounters with underworld figures. Now celebrating five decades in the trade, Dennis continues to take on major commissions, driven by the same passion for metalwork that inspired him as a teenager.
