Israeli forces carried out a series of airstrikes across southern and eastern Lebanon, targeting sites linked to Hezbollah, including a compound used by the group's elite Radwan Force. The strikes, which affected around a dozen locations up to 30 kilometers from the border, come despite a ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024 that was intended to end over a year of hostilities. According to the Israeli military, the targeted compound was used for weapons training and shooting exercises by Hezbollah operatives. Additional military infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah was also hit in several areas.
The ceasefire agreement stipulates that Hezbollah must withdraw its forces north of the Litani River and dismantle its military infrastructure in the region. Lebanon's army has been tasked with overseeing this process, aiming to complete the dismantling south of the river by the end of the year. The latest strikes reportedly targeted sites generally north of the Litani River. Earlier in the week, Israel conducted similar raids, citing attacks on Hezbollah training centers and other military sites.
