Rubio hits 2 more International Criminal Court judges with...

The administration of President Donald Trump has announced new sanctions against two judges from the International Criminal Court, Gocha Lordkipanidze of Georgia and Erdenebalsuren Damdin of Mongolia. These measures, which may include asset freezes and travel bans, are in response to the judges' involvement in investigations of Israeli officials for alleged war crimes during the conflict in Gaza. The United States has previously targeted other court officials for similar reasons, citing what it calls politicized actions against Israel and the United States, neither of which are members of the court.

The International Criminal Court swiftly condemned the sanctions, describing them as a direct attack on the independence of the court and a threat to the rule of law. The court emphasized its commitment to carrying out its mandate with impartiality, despite mounting political pressure. The move follows the court's recent issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli leaders, a decision that has drawn sharp criticism from Israeli officials and the Trump administration.
