Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac, a Palestinian Christian leader from Beit Sahour, has become a prominent voice connecting faith with the lived experience of Palestinians. His childhood memories of nonviolent resistance during the First Intifada shaped a theology rooted in solidarity, responsibility, and communal identity. Through initiatives like the 'Christ at the Checkpoint' conference, Isaac challenged Western theological frameworks that support Israeli policies, advocating instead for a faith that stands with the oppressed.

Isaac's message gained global attention after the bombing of Gaza's St. Porphyrius Church, when he declared 'God is under the rubble,' symbolizing Christ's solidarity with the suffering. His actions, including creating a nativity scene from rubble with the infant Jesus wrapped in a keffiyeh, sparked international dialogue about Palestinian Christian identity and the role of faith in resistance.

In August 2024, Isaac and other Arab evangelical leaders issued a landmark statement rejecting Christian Zionism and affirming Palestinian rights, urging global Christians to restore unity and oppose theological justifications for injustice. Despite criticism and ongoing challenges, Isaac remains committed to pastoral work and youth ministry, emphasizing that Christianity in Palestine is inseparable from Palestinian identity and the struggle for justice.
