Police have dismissed reports suggesting a connection between the disappearance of Haymanut Kasau and a recent attempted kidnapping case in Beersheba. Authorities told the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court that no evidence links the suspect in the Beersheba incident to Kasau's case, despite both victims having lived at the same Safed absorption center. The 63-year-old suspect remains under investigation for allegedly trying to kidnap and assault a young Ethiopian-Israeli girl, with his detention extended by three days. The girl described how she managed to escape and alert neighbors during the attempted abduction earlier this month.
