BADENOCH: Abd El-Fattah should be deported over racist tweets

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has called for Alaa Abd El-Fattah, an Egyptian-British activist recently released from prison, to be deported from Britain due to his past social media comments promoting violence and expressing racist views. Badenoch argues that while Abd El-Fattah was denied due process in Egypt, his public statements, including calls for violence against Jews and others, are incompatible with British values and should have been grounds for denying him citizenship. The article criticizes politicians and officials for failing to properly scrutinize Abd El-Fattah's background, blaming a culture of virtue-signalling and lack of due diligence in Parliament and the Civil Service. Badenoch pledges that under her leadership, citizenship decisions will be subject to stricter assessments, including consideration of social media activity and public beliefs, to ensure they align with the public good.
