Syria's Kurdish fighters have agreed to withdraw from Aleppo following intense clashes with government forces, ending their presence in the city's last Kurdish-held neighborhoods. The ceasefire, reached after days of fighting and international mediation, allowed for the evacuation of fighters, civilians, and the wounded from Ashrafiyeh and Sheikh Maqsud to northern and eastern Syria. The violence, which erupted after failed negotiations over Kurdish integration into the government, resulted in at least 21 civilian deaths and the displacement of over 150,000 people. The situation has drawn calls from the United States and European Union for renewed political dialogue, amid fears of further regional escalation and concerns for the safety of minorities in Syria.
