The United States has officially designated three national chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organizations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the Lebanese, Jordanian, and Egyptian chapters are now subject to sanctions and asset freezes under an executive order signed by President Donald Trump in November 2025.
