The United Nations has warned Israel that it may be referred to the International Court of Justice over recent laws targeting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees and the seizure of its property in occupied East Jerusalem. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed grave concerns about Israeli legislation banning essential services to the agency and allowing the confiscation of its facilities, stating these actions violate international law and the United Nations Charter. Guterres demanded that Israel repeal the laws, restore seized assets, and respect the diplomatic protections of United Nations personnel. Israel has dismissed the warnings, accusing the agency of ties to militant groups, which the agency denies.
