Israeli authorities have imposed a six-month ban on Ashraf Al-Awar, the Palestinian Authority's minister for Jerusalem affairs, preventing him from entering the occupied West Bank. The decision was delivered after Al-Awar was summoned for interrogation at the Al-Maskubiya detention center in Jerusalem. According to the ministry, this move is part of a broader Israeli policy aimed at restricting the activities of Palestinian leaders and national institutions in Jerusalem. Al-Awar has been given 72 hours to appeal the ban, which follows a similar six-month restriction imposed on him in early 2025.
