Bengaluru's rich and layered history is being uncovered through a series of curated heritage walks as part of Anubhava Hubba under Bengaluru Hubba. Over ten days, participants explore iconic locations such as MG Road, Avenue Road, Gavipuram, and Commercial Street, discovering stories hidden beneath the city's modern facade. Led by local heritage collectives, the walks reveal how colonial influences, forgotten battlefields, ancient water systems, and vanished neighbourhoods continue to shape the city's identity.
Highlights include the origins of the gin and tonic on MG Road, the historic Bible Society Press building, and the site of the pivotal 1791 battle on Avenue Road. In Gavipuram, walkers encounter mysterious hillocks and ancient watchtowers, while Commercial Street's transformation from a colonial marketplace to a bustling shopping hub is traced through its evolving architecture and community life. Guides emphasize the importance of preserving these memories as Bengaluru's urban landscape rapidly changes.
