Ryanair forecasts rise in passengers as it puts Elon Musk spat to bed

Ryanair has raised its passenger growth forecast, expecting nearly 208 million travelers in the 2025-26 period, up from previous estimates. This optimism follows a six percent rise in passenger numbers during the last quarter of 2023, driven by holiday travel and family visits. The airline also addressed a recent public spat between its chief executive and Elon Musk, with Ryanair's finance officer stating the issue is now resolved. While the airline continues to rule out in-flight wifi due to high costs, it has increased its fare growth guidance and remains confident in appealing a significant fine from Italian regulators. Despite a sharp drop in third-quarter profits due to this provision, Ryanair anticipates strong annual pre-tax profits, though it remains cautious about external risks such as geopolitical conflicts and air traffic control disruptions.
