Owens discussed the apology on her podcast, emphasizing her continued support for West as a friend, while clarifying that his apology does not reflect her own political views.
Owens stated that she respects West's decision to apologize and highlighted the honesty in their friendship, noting that neither tries to change the other. She reiterated her support for West and explained that their relationship is built on mutual acceptance of each other's individuality. Owens also touched on issues related to the music industry, advocating for greater rights for artists.
In his letter, West revealed details about his mental health, including head injuries from a car accident and a diagnosis of Bipolar Type-I disorder, which he said influenced his past behavior. He concluded by stating he is not seeking sympathy but hopes to earn forgiveness for his actions.
