Netflix has joined forces with Saudi creative hub Righters House to launch 'Write the Future -- Feature Film Writers Lab,' a new initiative designed to nurture emerging Saudi screenwriters and bolster the country's film industry. The three-month program will be held across Asir, Al Madinah, and the Eastern Province, offering professional training and mentorship to local talent. Eighteen participants will benefit from online masterclasses, in-person labs, and pitch preparation sessions, focusing on story development, character creation, narrative structure, and pitching. Delivered in Arabic, the lab aims to equip writers with a comprehensive feature-film development package, including a logline, synopsis, treatment, pitch deck, and recorded pitch. Organizers emphasize that this initiative is a strategic move to empower Saudi writers with global storytelling tools and raise industry standards.
