Families of victims from the July 2024 rocket attack in Majdal Shams have filed an 80 million shekel lawsuit in the Jerusalem District Court against the Lebanese group responsible for the attack. The lawsuit, brought by eight families whose children were killed when a rocket struck a soccer field in the Golan Heights, seeks punitive damages under Israel's Law for Compensation for Victims of Terrorism. In addition, another lawsuit is being filed on behalf of more than 30 injured victims, seeking 165 million shekels in damages. The families and their attorneys emphasize that the legal action aims to hold those responsible accountable, deter future attacks on civilians, and pursue justice for the victims. The legal team asserts that the attack was deliberate, with the rocket launched directly at the field, and stresses the importance of legal measures alongside military efforts.
