Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has signed orders to revoke the citizenship and deport two Israelis convicted of carrying out terror attacks against civilians. This marks the first use of a law passed in February last year, which allows the removal of citizenship and deportation for those convicted of terrorism, particularly if they have received payments from the Palestinian Authority. The two individuals, Mahmoud Ahmad and Mohammed Ahmad Hussein al-Halsi, were convicted of shooting and stabbing attacks, respectively. Ahmad will be deported immediately following his release, while al-Halsi will be deported upon completing his sentence. The deportation destination is reported to be the Gaza Strip, though official confirmation is pending.
