Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, said that negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between India and Israel are currently underway and could be concluded within the year. He indicated that discussions are progressing positively, reflecting strong economic and strategic ties between the two countries.
Azar also highlighted ongoing security concerns related to Iran, accusing it of attempting to develop nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles while supporting proxy terrorist groups in the region. He said Israel has managed to counter some of these threats over the past two years but continues to remain on high alert.
He added that negotiations with the United States are in progress to prevent Iran from acquiring weapons of mass destruction. Israel, he said, remains prepared to defend itself at any time to safeguard its national and regional security.
