The Israel Defense Forces said their expanding air campaign against Iran is expected to continue for weeks as strikes intensify against the regime's weapons production and military industries. Officials described the effort as a significant move to weaken Iran's war capabilities, noting that about 6,500 munitions have been used so far and more than 60 percent of Iran's missile launchers have been destroyed.
According to military briefings, the operation is being carried out in full coordination with the United States and is already producing results sooner than anticipated. While officials expressed hope that pressure on the regime could eventually lead to political change, they emphasized that the primary objective is to degrade Iran's military strength rather than topple its leadership.
The campaign also includes expanded strikes in Lebanon against Hezbollah targets, including rocket launchers, drone production facilities and command centers in Beirut. In Iran, Israeli aircraft have targeted missile launchers, unmanned aerial vehicle storage sites and air defense systems, as the broader effort continues across multiple fronts.
