Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi has received a third transshipment of cargo bound for Middle Eastern ports amid ongoing disruptions to regional shipping routes. The move comes as the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked by Iran following escalating military tensions involving the United States, Israel, and several Gulf states.
Despite the regional maritime crisis, Karachi port authorities say the facility remains fully operational and capable of supporting international shipping lines. A cargo vessel carrying transshipment goods for Middle Eastern destinations recently docked at the Karachi International Container Terminal, highlighting growing reliance on the port.
Pakistan has offered Karachi as an alternative hub for uninterrupted global cargo transshipments during the crisis. Officials say the port continues to facilitate smooth maritime trade and ensure efficient cargo operations, positioning it as a strategic asset for regional and international commerce.
