Wave of airstrikes targeted underground IRGC weapons R&D site -- IDF

The Israel Defense Forces said a wave of overnight airstrikes in Tehran targeted key military infrastructure, including a subterranean weapons research and development complex. The site, located at Imam Hossein University, serves as a military academy for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to the military, the strike hit an underground route where the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps conducted experiments and tests related to ballistic missile development and production processes. Additional targets included weapons production facilities and air defense systems in the Iranian capital.

The Israel Defense Forces also said it struck infrastructure at the main headquarters of the Quds Force, the overseas arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The military described the operation as part of a new stage of the war aimed at deepening the blow to the core systems and foundations of the Iranian regime.
