Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that tonight's attack on Israel was a joint and integrated operation carried out together with Lebanon's Hezbollah group. In a statement reported by the Tasnim news agency, the force said it launched several ballistic missiles while Hezbollah fired drones and rockets at more than 50 targets across Israel.
According to Israeli military officials, the Iranian ballistic missiles were aimed at central, northern, and southern parts of the country but were intercepted by air defense systems. At the same time, Hezbollah launched approximately 150 rockets toward northern Israel.
In previous incidents, the Israel Defense Forces had said there was no intelligence indicating that simultaneous fire from Iran and Hezbollah was coordinated. The latest statement from Tehran, however, describes the attack as a unified effort between the two forces.
