Displaced Lebanese Haunted by Strikes from the Sky

War has become an inescapable presence across Beirut, where the sound of drones and warplanes fills the sky and explosions shake residential neighborhoods. Families displaced by Israeli evacuation orders have taken refuge on sidewalks, beaches, and parking lots, particularly after strikes intensified in the southern suburbs long associated with Hezbollah.

Fear deepened after the Israeli military issued its first evacuation warning for central Beirut since the conflict began, followed by airstrikes targeting what Israeli officials described as Hezbollah infrastructure. A large plume of smoke rose over a normally vibrant residential district known for its restaurants and nightlife, signaling a widening campaign.

Earlier strikes along the seaside corniche killed at least eight people and wounded dozens, many of them already displaced. Another recent हमला hit a hotel in central Beirut without warning. With attacks expanding beyond previously targeted areas, many residents now believe that no part of the city can be considered safe.
