A pro-Palestinian activist has lost his job after filming himself harassing comedian Matt Lucas at a London Underground station. Thomas Bourne approached Lucas on an escalator, shouting 'Free Palestine' and accusing him of being a 'zionist' while recording the encounter and posting it online.

The video drew widespread criticism, and Bourne later said he was dismissed from his role as a fundraising consultant as a direct result of the incident and subsequent media coverage. He claimed he was unaware of Lucas’s Jewish background at the time and denied that the confrontation was motivated by religion.

Bourne, who is known for attending pro-Palestinian rallies in London, deleted the video after learning Lucas is Jewish, saying he feared how the footage would be interpreted. Despite expressing concern over the backlash, he appeared unrepentant in interviews, maintaining that he had been reacting to what he perceived as a hostile look from the comedian.
