The Israeli military said that Iran attempted to shoot down one of its fighter jets during an airstrike over Iranian territory, and that the attempt nearly succeeded. The aircraft came close to being hit during the interception effort.

According to the military, the pilot’s alertness and professionalism enabled the jet to evade the threat and complete its mission successfully. The incident was later reviewed, and lessons were drawn from the event.

The military added that since the start of the war, there have been numerous attempts to target Israeli fighter jets operating over Iran. Despite ongoing threats, it said operations and strikes will continue wherever required, including over Iranian territory.
