Crowds of shoppers have filled Raja Bazaar in Rawalpindi as families prepare for the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr festival marking the end of Ramadan. Many visitors traveled from other regions to purchase clothing and gifts, drawn by the market’s wide selection and competitive prices.
Some shoppers said they appreciated the opportunity to bargain and find items not available in their hometowns. The bustling marketplace has become a focal point for festive preparations, offering a lively atmosphere despite economic pressures.
However, rising fuel costs linked to the war in the Middle East have dampened celebrations for some. Customers reported significant price differences between shops selling similar goods, with limited oversight leading to inconsistent pricing and added financial strain during the holiday season.
