Israel's Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Ministry has identified a group known as Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia as being behind a recent wave of attacks on Jewish sites across Europe. The incidents, which took place between March 9 and March 14, 2026, included the arson of a synagogue in Rotterdam and the detonation of an explosive device outside a synagogue in Liège, as well as attacks on a Jewish site in Greece and a Jewish school in Amsterdam. No injuries were reported, but significant damage was caused.

According to the ministry, the attacks appear to follow a coordinated pattern designed to intimidate Jewish communities and spread psychological fear. Intelligence findings indicate that documentation of the incidents circulated on channels linked to Shiite militant networks aligned with Iran, including Hezbollah and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The name used by the group was previously associated with an Iraqi militia designated as a terrorist organization by the United States State Department.

Officials believe the attacks may be linked to retaliation following reports of the killing of a militia leader and suggest the operations rely on local recruits or lone actors directed remotely. Arrests in the Netherlands of four teenage suspects accused of planning further attacks support this assessment. Israeli officials warned that the emergence of the group reflects a growing model in which proxy organizations operate in Europe while maintaining operational ambiguity, and they urged international action to protect Jewish communities from expanding terror networks.
