Five missiles struck Baghdad International Airport on Sunday, injuring four people, including airport staff and security personnel, according to Iraqi authorities. The Iran backed Iraqi militia Kataib Hezbollah claimed responsibility, stating that its rockets targeted Camp Victory, a former United States base within the airport complex that now serves as a diplomatic logistics hub.
In a separate development, the Israeli military said it carried out strikes on bases belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and the Basij militia in the western part of the country. Meanwhile, Israel's ongoing aerial campaign in Beirut and its suburbs, along with ground operations in southern Lebanon, has displaced more than 800,000 people and killed 850, including 24 on Sunday, Lebanese authorities reported.
