Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned that it will destroy the oil and gas infrastructure of neighboring Gulf countries if its own energy facilities are attacked again. The force described Gulf energy assets as serving American interests and said they would be targeted in retaliation.
In a statement carried by Iranian media, the Guards said Gulf states had made a 'big mistake' by striking the Islamic Republic's energy infrastructure. They added that their response is already underway and would intensify if further attacks occur.
The statement threatened that any renewed action against Iran's energy sector would trigger sustained strikes on the energy infrastructure of those countries and their allies, continuing until it is 'completely destroyed.' The Guards warned that future retaliation would be more severe than the attacks already carried out.
