The Israeli military said it has begun carrying out airstrikes in northern Iran for the first time since the war started on February 28. The strikes are part of what Israel calls Operation Roaring Lion.
According to the military, the air force acted on intelligence provided by naval and military sources to target sites in the region. Israeli media reported that the strikes focused on Iranian navy vessels in the port city of Bandar Anzali, located along the Caspian Sea.
The conflict began with a joint attack by the United States and Israel on Iran and has since spread across large parts of the Middle East, marking a significant escalation in regional hostilities.
