On 19th day of war, Netanyahu says Iran can no longer enrich uranium, build missiles

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on the nineteenth day of the war that Iran no longer has the ability to enrich uranium or manufacture ballistic missiles, citing sustained strikes on nuclear and weapons production facilities. He said Israel is now targeting factories that produce missile and nuclear weapon components, describing the campaign as an effort to dismantle Iran’s industrial base. Hours after his remarks, Iran launched new missile attacks on Israel, triggering sirens in Jerusalem and other areas.

Netanyahu also claimed that Iran’s leadership is in disarray following the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other senior officials. He suggested there are internal tensions and defections within the regime, and said Israel would continue targeting Revolutionary Guards leadership. While emphasizing that it is ultimately up to the Iranian people to overthrow the regime, he left open the possibility of a future ground component to the military campaign.

Addressing tensions with Washington over a recent strike on a major Iranian gas field, Netanyahu said Israel acted alone and agreed to hold off on further attacks on gas infrastructure at the request of President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Iran has intensified missile and drone strikes across the Gulf, damaging key energy facilities and contributing to disruptions in global oil flows, including through the Strait of Hormuz.
