The Israeli military carried out two waves of overnight and morning airstrikes targeting dozens of Iranian military sites in Tehran and central Iran. According to the military, the strikes focused on facilities linked to weapons production and the development of components for ballistic missiles.
In Tehran, several weapon factories were hit, along with sites used to manufacture parts for ballistic missiles. East of the capital, aircraft struck storage facilities where ballistic missiles were being kept, reportedly while Iranian soldiers were present.
The military said the strikes come after it identified that Iran has been launching ballistic missiles toward Israel from central parts of the country. It added that earlier operations had significantly reduced Iran's ability to fire missiles from western Iran, prompting the shift in launch locations.
