Chuck Norris became a political outsider in Hollywood after leaving the Democratic Party and embracing hardline conservative views. A devout Christian, he wrote regularly about faith, gun rights, and what he saw as traditional American values, arguing that Democrats had moved too far left and no longer reflected the nation’s founding principles.
Over the years, Norris formed close relationships with leading Republican figures, including President Ronald Reagan and President George H.W. Bush. He praised Reagan as a 'fine man' and a 'great leader for our country' and shared a personal friendship with Bush, even joining him for a skydiving jump on Bush’s eightieth birthday.
Norris also endorsed a number of Republican candidates, including Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, and Donald Trump. He appeared in campaign videos, publicly backed conservative policies, and supported leaders such as Greg Abbott, Ted Cruz, and Benjamin Netanyahu. Following Norris’s death at age eighty six, Trump remembered him as a 'really good tough cookie' and a loyal supporter.
