An Iranian missile strike hit the southern Israeli town of Dimona, near a nuclear research facility long associated with Israel's undeclared nuclear capabilities. The International Atomic Energy Agency said it was not aware of any damage to the facility and reported no increase in off-site radiation levels. Iranian state media said the attack was carried out in response to a reported strike on Iran's Natanz nuclear facility earlier the same day.

Israel's ambulance service said 40 people were injured in Dimona, most with mild wounds, including a 10-year-old boy in serious condition. In the nearby town of Arad, 68 others were treated after a separate strike, with several reported in serious condition. Emergency responders described the scene as severe, while Israeli authorities said interceptor missiles failed to stop the incoming ballistic missiles.

Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation said there was no radioactive leakage following the reported strike on Natanz and called the attack a violation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The escalation underscores the sensitivity surrounding nuclear facilities in the region, as both sides continue to trade strikes in an intensifying conflict.
