A 14-year-old boy has been indicted on espionage charges for allegedly carrying out missions on behalf of Iran after making contact with an Iranian agent online. Prosecutors say he completed a series of tasks in exchange for more than $1,170, including filming sensitive locations and spray-painting messages across Tel Aviv.
Among the sites he allegedly documented were the Kirya military headquarters, Ichilov Hospital, and neighborhoods in Ramat Gan that were recently struck by Iranian missiles. He also reportedly filmed the Tel Aviv skyline while capturing the location of the military complex and was asked to monitor Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and vandalize his home.
Prosecutors say the agent instructed the teen to rent an apartment near the Israel Defense Forces headquarters, though he never succeeded in securing one. The boy has been charged in the Tel Aviv Juvenile Court with maintaining contact with a foreign agent and passing intelligence to the enemy, among other offenses.
