Security forces say they busted Hamas cell in West Bank planning terror attacks

Israeli security authorities announced the arrest of ten members of a Hamas cell operating in the West Bank town of Beita near Nablus. The suspects are accused of carrying out several explosive and shooting attacks against Israeli troops between March and April 2025, wounding three soldiers, two of them seriously.

According to a joint statement by the Israel Security Agency, police, and the military, the group was planning additional major attacks, including the abduction of a Jewish resident in the area. Investigators said the cell had conducted surveillance on a potential target but ultimately did not carry out the kidnapping due to operational difficulties.

Authorities said the suspects were preparing further mass-casualty attacks and had gathered weapons, including an assault rifle and explosives. One member allegedly dug a six-meter-deep tunnel inside his home that was intended to hold hostages.

Indictments have been filed against all ten suspects at the Samaria Military Court, with some charged with attempted murder and attempted kidnapping under military law.
