A winter-like storm system swept across Israel just hours before the shift to daylight saving time, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and unusually cold temperatures. Snow fell on Mount Hermon, while forecasters warned of flash floods in southern streams and flooding along parts of the central and southern coastline.

Significant rainfall was recorded across much of the country, particularly in central areas. Tel Aviv saw more than 40 millimeters of rain, with similarly high totals in nearby cities including Beit Dagan and Ness Ziona. Measurable rainfall was also reported in the north and as far south as Eilat.

Rain is expected to taper off toward Thursday evening, with partly cloudy skies and intermittent showers continuing into Friday, the first day of daylight saving time. Temperatures are forecast to rise slightly through Saturday, though unsettled conditions may persist into Sunday and possibly into next week, according to some international weather models.
