Alexis Wilkins, a country singer and girlfriend of Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel, has accused commentator Candace Owens and other right-wing influencers of falsely portraying her as a 'honeypot' agent for Israel's intelligence service. Wilkins said the claims were part of a coordinated, foreign-linked influence campaign designed to damage her reputation and undermine President Donald Trump. She denied the allegations and described the experience as isolating and deliberate.
Wilkins said she analyzed publicly available social media data that she believes shows abnormal activity amplifying accusations against her. She alleged that Owens, former Trump adviser Michael Flynn and former counterterrorism official Joe Kent were involved in a broader Russian-backed effort to create division within the Republican Party, weaken support for the president and influence the upcoming midterm elections.
Owens rejected the accusations, calling them false and mocking Wilkins' claims, while Flynn responded with a meme dismissing the allegations. The dispute comes as Wilkins and Patel have also faced scrutiny over claims they misused taxpayer-funded security and travel resources, which they have denied. Wilkins urged Republicans to unite ahead of the midterms and warned against what she described as infiltration within the conservative movement.
