Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, has praised Islamabad for its efforts to promote peace as Iran continues missile and drone attacks against Gulf nations amid the ongoing Middle East conflict. He described Iran's actions as unjustified aggression against sovereign states and a violation of international law.
Since the war began following strikes on Iran in late February, Tehran has launched attacks that it says target military sites linked to the United States. However, several strikes have hit civilian infrastructure, including oil facilities, airports, and hotels in Gulf countries, resulting in civilian casualties and widespread damage.
The Saudi envoy commended Pakistan for its responsible and constructive role in seeking to contain the crisis and advance a peaceful resolution. Pakistan has positioned itself as an intermediary, facilitating indirect talks between Tehran and Washington while coordinating closely with Riyadh and other regional partners.
Pakistani officials reiterated their commitment to dialogue and diplomacy, urging all sides to exercise restraint. Islamabad has also condemned Iran's attacks on Gulf states and emphasized the importance of regional stability and humanitarian principles in resolving the conflict.
