Minnesota to host 'No Kings' flagship rally, headlining Springsteen...

Minnesota will host the flagship rally of the 'No Kings' protest movement at the State Capitol in St. Paul, where up to 100,000 people are expected to gather. More than 3,100 events are planned across all 50 states, with organizers anticipating over 9 million participants. The movement has gained momentum in suburbs and is also spreading internationally, with rallies scheduled in more than a dozen countries.

The Minnesota event comes amid lingering anger over President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown and the fatal shootings of two residents by federal officers. Organizers say the state was chosen because of both the severity of federal actions there and the strong local activism that followed. This marks the third major wave of 'No Kings' protests, following millions of participants in demonstrations last year.

The rally will feature performances and appearances by Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Jane Fonda, and Senator Bernie Sanders, along with other activists and labor leaders. Springsteen is expected to perform his song 'Streets of Minneapolis,' written in honor of the two residents who were killed. Opposition to the recent war in Iran is also expected to draw additional protesters to the event.
