Four soldiers from the Israel Defense Forces were killed during combat in southern Lebanon amid ongoing fighting along the northern border. Three of the fallen were identified as Capt. Noam Madmoni, 22, Staff Sgt. Ben Cohen, 21, and Staff Sgt. Maxsim Entis, 21, all serving in the Nahal Reconnaissance Battalion of the Nahal Brigade. The name of a fourth soldier has not yet been cleared for publication.

The clash occurred Monday evening during a close-range encounter with Hezbollah militants in the western sector of southern Lebanon. According to the military, troops identified and engaged militant cells at close range, killing them in the exchange.

During efforts to evacuate the wounded, militants fired an anti-tank missile at the troops, though no additional casualties were reported. Israeli forces responded with tank fire and airstrikes as operations continue in the area to establish operational control.
