Israeli troops detained five Palestinians in the village of Duma in the northern West Bank after clashes erupted when settlers allegedly attacked residents, according to Palestinian media and Israeli activists. At least one Palestinian was reported injured, and the village’s main entrance was closed, reportedly preventing medical teams from reaching the area. It remains unclear whether those detained are still in custody.
Activists present in Duma said settlers armed with guns, clubs and pepper spray assaulted both Palestinians and two Israeli activists providing what they describe as protective presence. Video shared by the activists shows assailants striking and pepper spraying individuals during the confrontation.
In a separate incident in the Jordan Valley, troops arrested seven Palestinian men as settlers reportedly raided homes in the shepherding community of Hadidiya. The men were released several hours later. Footage shared by activists appears to show settlers inside residential tents and property scattered on the ground, while soldiers detained Palestinian men nearby. The Israeli army did not immediately comment on either incident.
