The United States will deploy additional troops and military assets to the Middle East as operations against Iran continue, according to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine. Speaking alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Caine said the campaign, known as 'Operation Epic Fury,' is ongoing and will require sustained effort.
Caine emphasized that the mission involves major combat operations and will not be completed quickly. He noted that the objectives assigned to United States Central Command are complex and will take time to achieve.
Four United States service members have been killed so far, and military leaders expect further casualties as the campaign progresses. Additional forces are already being sent to the region, underscoring the military's ability to rapidly reinforce and project power where needed.
