More than 100 aid trucks crossed into Gaza through the Rafah border on Tuesday after Israel agreed to reopen the Kerem Shalom crossing for the gradual entry of humanitarian assistance. The reopening followed a closure of all crossings after Israel launched a joint attack on Iran with the United States.

The convoy, coordinated by the Egyptian Red Crescent, included trucks from the United Nations and the United Nations Children's Fund carrying hundreds of tons of food, relief supplies and fuel for hospitals and other vital facilities. No shipments were turned back during inspection, though no Palestinians were permitted to cross the border.

Aid agencies have warned that severe fuel shortages have forced them to ration supplies and prioritize life saving operations in Gaza. Under an October peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, up to 600 aid trucks are supposed to enter the territory each day, far more than the current flow.
