Israel and the United States are highlighting what they describe as an unprecedented level of military coordination in their joint air campaign against Iran. Four days into the fighting, senior defense officials from both countries characterized the partnership as exceptionally close, with shared planning, constant communication and a division of targets across Iranian territory.
According to officials, the two militaries have effectively divided Iranian airspace, with Israel focusing on western and central areas while the United States concentrates on southern targets. American forces have deployed hundreds of troops to Israel, along with fighter jets, air defense systems and refueling aircraft, enabling sustained strikes deep inside Iran. Hundreds of people in Iran have been reported killed, while Iranian leaders have vowed not to yield and regional countries have reported Iranian attacks on their own territory.
Military leaders described coordination at every level, including thousands of calls each day and frequent conversations among top commanders. The campaign was planned weeks in advance, with joint operational designs and even tactical deception to preserve surprise. Officials say the cooperation marks the first time since Israel's independence that it has fought alongside an ally for the full duration of a major military campaign.
