Israel's National Security Council has warned of serious concerns over potential attacks against Israelis and Jewish communities abroad, citing increased activity by Iranian security bodies and affiliated groups. The warning follows the launch of Israel's military campaign against Iran, known as Operation Roaring Lion, and points to a surge in threats and attempted attacks worldwide.
Officials said several plots targeting Israelis have recently been foiled and cautioned that lone attackers pose a growing risk. Incidents in the United States and Canada, including a shooting in Austin and gunfire at Jewish-related sites in Toronto, were highlighted as examples of heightened tensions.
The advisory urges Israelis overseas to exercise increased vigilance, avoid displaying visible Jewish or Israeli symbols, and refrain from sharing real-time travel details on social media. Travelers are also advised to avoid visiting Jewish or Israeli-affiliated sites such as Chabad centers and synagogues, and to steer clear of areas known for hostility toward Israelis or Jews.
In addition, Israelis have been told to avoid transit through the United Arab Emirates and to closely follow country-specific travel guidance. The council called on citizens abroad to remain alert, report any threats to local authorities, and stay informed through official updates.
