British counter terrorism police have arrested a 37 year old man in Devon on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts linked to a series of attacks targeting Jewish institutions in London. He has been taken to a London police station for questioning. Authorities say 26 people have been arrested since late March in connection with the incidents.

The investigation began after an arson attack on Jewish community ambulances in Golders Green. Subsequent incidents have included arson at a synagogue, a former Jewish charity office, and an attempted arson outside a Persian media company. A drone was also reportedly flown near the Israeli embassy, and properties linked to critics of the Iranian government have been targeted.

Counter terrorism officials are examining possible foreign involvement, including whether Iranian proxy groups may have orchestrated or inspired the attacks. Eight people have been charged with arson related offences and one conviction has been secured, including a 17 year old who pleaded guilty to arson not endangering life.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the threat as serious and announced plans for new legislation aimed at countering hostile states that use proxies to conduct attacks in Britain. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to protecting Jewish communities and upholding religious freedom and national security.
